alive!

the city is alive! I just came back from an hour run; heading west and there are A LOT of people outside. There is a football game tonight, Germany vs. Austria so it appears to have brought some people out of the wood work. (There's a big party at one of the squares with a big screen tv showing the game.) Last night I was politely introduced to the Turkish community here who were busy celebrating their win just behind the train tracks where I am staying.

Work was uneventful as I was there to set myself up, and a few of them came out with me for lunch at some random Italian place. The food was ok but a fairly big portion. I also learned I'm not supposed to tip unless its dinner. oookay.

Will be back after the other co-horts return from Bonn...

ps. I found a bike rental place! It was next door to the train station! 8 euros a day :)
