Rabbits!

Dortmund seems to have a rabbit problem. hahaha. My continuation of running the east side of the city somehow turned into an exploration of the south. I ended up checking out the Westfalenhallen, a huge sports complex and a very nice 400m track. I knew the Westfalenpark was to the west, (and saw the ugly "TV tower") but as soon I started running, I noticed many holes in the ground (think giant ant hills), and then, rabbits. Big rabbits, little rabbits, all bouncing around right near the road. It was hilarious. The farther west I went, the more rabbits I would see. I had told my co-worker I'd meet him for dinner so I decided to turn back. I got a little mixed up but made it back.

We had Turkish food for dinner (did I mention there's a huge community here?) and had something that tasted like Barg at Tehran. Ended up going for a walk afterwards to walk off the food and took some pictures. And no, I don't know why there are rhinos everywhere.

And the ferris wheel? Another I don't know. And hey, I want to be blown away by food too, but its just not cutting it. Maybe in Berlin...

I know that there is no German life without beer. Don't forget to ask (or read the brand label) %ABV (percent alcohol by volume) or %ABW (percent alcohol per weight) [%ABW = 0.8 * %ABV], or Plato (fermenting degree) etc. Generally Germans never abhor accurate talk. If you had plain light beer there, possibly it's Pilsner which carry 11.5 degree plato, 4,5%ABV. You can rest assured to have a jug of one in such level. Refer to:

How does the Turkish food compare to the place on St-Catherine's?

I'll ask Musti if there's any Turkish food you have to try!

This is the answer for rhino.

The rhinoceros is Dortmund Konzerthaus' coat-of-arms animal. It has also inspired a big campaign. All over Dortmund's inner city, for exaample, you will find different rhinos adding a lot of colour to the place.

I just Googled "rabbits" and "Dortmund", expecting to get fuzzy wuzzy pictures of bunnies. Instead, the first bunch of links were very recent news headlines about a bunny serial killer in Dortmund!

Someone has gone around Dortmund and killed over 40 rabbits since Chistmas and is still running free now. Funny thing is, the article says that the victims were all pet rabbits taken from their cages because rabbits "aren't easy to find" in the area. There's speculation that it's some Satanist cult.

Poor bunnies!!!!

Try Salzkuchen mit Mett.(Mettente)
bagel-like, caraway spiced roll with seasoned mincemeat and onions. Mettente, a smoked sausage, normaly comes with spicy mustard.
